Next Shoot is our 2022 Branch Shoot on 19/20 November. Camping, showers and toilets available with catering for breakfast and lunch only – no Saturday dinner so you will need to BYO. Access is from noon Friday so plan your trip now. Check the facebook link for registration details and more up to the minute information as this site is not updated as regularly. You will need to register by Wed 16th November. Hopefully we can get to enjoy a few days respite from the rain.
Hope to see you there!
PLEASE NOTE!!
Directions to the club provided below for visitors. They are from Tharwa which is a village that is just past the southern suburban limit of Canberra. For all attendees it will be best to come in from the Smiths Road route and give Sunshine Crossing a miss – it is actually officially closed at the moment and has had water over the top for months now. With rain and storms still about water levels will remain high for some time.
For members please make sure your ABA and CFA memberships are up-to-date. Payment for CFA membership can be taken on the day along with shoot fees. Renewals for 2022/23 are now due.
Remember:
- Food and drink is still bring your own – no catering available at the moment.
- The ground still may be wet and slippery in areas so bring good footwear/boots – also snakes have been sighted recently as well!
Hope to see everyone there!
Remember – there will be a briefing before each shoot which will provide a run down on what is expected from all participants. At the moment we are still doing self-catering only – so remember to bring some lunch and snacks along. Shoot fees $10 for adults, $5 juniors. There is some equipment available if you need to hire gear.
As previously noted we have amended our membership year to run from 1July 2021 to 30 June 2022. This is a permanent change and aligns our membership year with our financial year. Easiest way to pay is via transfer to the club bank account. See facebook for club account details if you don’t have them already. We can take cash payments if this works for you. There is a membership renewal/application form under the Club Documents page on this website. Even if you are simply renewing please fill out the form and email (to prescfacanberra@gmail.com) or bring it in as we then know we have the most up to date contact information and you are official for insurance and other administrative purposes.

Directions from Tharwa Bridge:
Recommended Route for now – At this time the best route for accessing the club is to travel through the village of Tharwa and turn left onto Smith’s Road about 1 km south of Tharwa. Keep going along Smith’s Road, past Angle Crossing Road turn-off on your left and turning right into the eastern end of Sunshine Road (on your right) a little further on. Our gate will be visible on your right about 500m along Sunshine Road. Follow the signs from the gate.
Capital Field Archers is located at a scenic field range near Namadgi National Park and a nature reserve, south of Tharwa in the ACT. We have secured access to the land under an agreement managed by ACT Parks and Conservation which provides mutual benefits to both parties. Please remember we need to comply with the conditions and responsibilities that Parks imposes to continue to maintain access to our current location.
